The Illinois Wesleyan University men's volleyball team is set to return to competition after a two-week hiatus. The Titans will face Augustana College in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) match on Saturday, March 15. The game will take place at the Roy J. Carver Center in Rock Island, Illinois, with the first serve scheduled for 3 p.m.
Illinois Wesleyan enters the contest with an overall record of 11-7 and a conference record of 1-3. Meanwhile, Augustana holds a 10-9 overall record but has yet to secure a win in conference play, standing at 0-5.
The Titans' last encounter was against Augustana on March 1, where they secured a victory in four sets at the Shirk Center. In that match, junior Jace Milka achieved a career-high with 19 kills and an attack percentage of .343. Senior Vince DiCosola led the team with 25 assists, while sophomore Brenden Reutter followed closely with 22 assists.
Sophomore Bryce Williams has been leading the Titan offense this season with 172 kills and an average of 2.97 per set on a .214 attack percentage. Gavin Rohlwing ranks second on the team with 125 kills and leads defensively with eight blocks during their last meeting against Augustana.
Reutter tops the team in aces with 21 this season and also leads in assists alongside DiCosola, contributing significantly to IWU's offensive strategy.
In terms of defense, Milka is leading in digs averaging two per set while Rohlwing stands out nationally for his blocking skills.
Historically, Augustana holds a slight edge over Illinois Wesleyan in their series meetings; however, IWU managed to break its losing streak against them earlier this month.
