The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team experienced a second consecutive defeat, falling 15-11 to Ursinus College on Friday afternoon. The match took place in Colorado Springs, marking IWU's record at 6-2 for the season while Ursinus improved to 2-4.

Ursinus led in several statistical categories, including shots (59-38), assists (7-6), ground balls (30-24), and faceoff wins (23-7). However, Illinois Wesleyan held an edge in saves (17-11), clears (16-13), and caused turnovers (7-5).

Gage Black from Peoria was a standout for the Titans with four points from three goals and an assist. Ike Eastburn of Colorado Springs and Timothy McHugh from Orland Park each contributed three points. Michael Rocco led with five ground balls and Sam Skelton recorded two caused turnovers. Colin Tervo made 17 saves over the course of the game.

The game saw Boone score first with an unassisted goal before Ursinus quickly responded. Freshman Carlo Adams scored after receiving a pass from McHugh, regaining the lead for IWU early on. Black added another goal shortly after.

Despite these efforts, Ursinus managed to cut into IWU's lead multiple times throughout the game. A series of goals by UC put them ahead 9-6 during the third period until Eastburn scored again with help from McHugh.

In the final period, Jake Kahoun scored off a pass from John Kittoe but it wasn't enough as Ursinus extended their lead further to secure victory.

Illinois Wesleyan will next face Calvin University in Grand Rapids on March 22nd.
