Illinois Wesleyan women’s bowling concludes season at Music City Classic

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team concluded its 2024-25 season at the Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tennessee. The event took place from March 14 to March 16, with Vanderbilt University hosting and taking first place. The Titans finished in 31st position.

Junior Kiera Henderson from Silvis, Illinois placed 103rd individually, with a total pinfall of 734 over five games. Her highest score was 161 pins in game five.

Freshman Sapphire Bankston-Hunter from North Chicago, Illinois ranked 124th overall, achieving a total of 588 pins. Her best game score was 145 pins, just one shy of her personal best.

Neveah Porter, another freshman from Appleton, Wisconsin placed 132nd with a total pinfall of 523 across five games. Porter's third game marked a career-high score of 126 pins.

Sophomores Bella Horvath and Joanna Steven finished in the ranks at positions 144th and 154th respectively. Horvath accumulated a total of 492 pins while Steven scored a total pinfall of 444.

Throughout the tournament, the Titans faced teams such as Emmanuel University, Wichita State University, and others but ended up going winless with an overall record of 0-10 in both baker and traditional play formats. Their closest match came against Quincy University where they were defeated by a margin of only 95 pins.

The team will return its entire roster for the next season's competitions.
