Illinois State University is set to host Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in a midweek baseball matchup at Duffy Bass Field. The game is scheduled for Tuesday with the first pitch at 5 p.m. and will be available on ESPN+.

The Redbirds enter the game following a successful weekend series against Western Illinois, where they won three out of four games. They concluded the series with a doubleheader sweep, winning 11-4 and 10-0.

SIUE comes into this contest with a record of 6-12 for the season, having recently lost two out of three games to Missouri State. Historically, Illinois State leads the series against SIUE with a record of 22-10-1.

In their last encounter in 2024, Illinois State secured a decisive 14-3 victory over SIUE at home, marking their ninth top-25 win under head coach Steve Holm. Notably, Judah Morris had an impressive performance going 3-for-4 with four RBIs, while Thomas Harper achieved his first career save.

Illinois State recently returned to play at Duffy Bass Field after spending the initial part of the season on the road. In one standout performance against Western Illinois, senior Tanner Perry pitched a complete nine-inning game.

Looking ahead, Illinois State will host the Missouri Valley Conference Championships from May 20 to May 24 at Duffy Bass Field. This marks the first time since 2019 that they will host this event.

Following Tuesday's game against SIUE, Illinois State will begin MVC play in Nashville with a series against Belmont from Friday through Sunday.
