Days after the NCAA Division III Track and Field Indoor Championships concluded, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its list of First and Second Team All-American honorees on Monday, March 17. Three athletes from Illinois Wesleyan University's track and field teams were recognized.
Junior Evan Lowder from Bloomington was named a First Team All-American following his eighth-place finish in the men's 400-meter event. Lowder clocked a time of 48.59 seconds in the final, earning his third All-American honor. He previously earned second team accolades at last year's indoor championship before making the podium in the outdoor 400m event.
Freshman Nick Walker from Metamora received his first All-American honor after placing 12th in the men's high jump. Walker matched his career-best of 2.05 meters (6'8.75") during his NCAA debut to secure second team honors.
Sophomore Imani Ogunribido from Hanover Park also earned recognition as a Second Team All-American with her performance in the women's high jump, finishing tenth with a jump of 12.08 meters (39'7.75"). This marks Ogunribido's third All-American honor; she was named to the second team at last year's indoor championship and was a first team honoree outdoors.
The Titans are now preparing for their outdoor season, which begins on Saturday, March 29 with events at Illinois State University and Millikin University.
