After two challenging matches in Colorado Springs, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is returning to the Midwest. They are set to face Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Saturday, March 22. The game will commence at 5 p.m. ET at Zuidema Field.

Illinois Wesleyan currently holds a 6-2 record this season. Their recent losses came during their spring break trip where they faced Colorado College and Ursinus, with scores of 19-11 and 15-11 respectively.

Fifth-year player Gage Black led the Titans last week with seven points from five goals and two assists. Sophomore Timothy McHugh followed closely with six points from four goals and two assists. Seniors Nick Horrocks and Sam Skelton each recorded three caused turnovers, while senior Colin Tervo made a total of 32 saves across both games.

For the season, McHugh has been a key distributor for the Titans with 32 points, including nine goals and an impressive 23 assists. His average of 2.88 assists per game ranks second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and fifteenth in Division III this year. Black follows with 29 points on 23 goals and six assists, while fifth-year Ike Eastburn has accumulated all his 24 points through goals.

Senior Nick Schroeder has achieved a .613 faceoff win percentage by winning 92 out of 150 faceoffs and leads the team with 41 ground balls. Skelton anchors the defense with a total of 16 caused turnovers and has gathered up to 24 scoops this season. As primary goalkeeper, Tervo holds a record of five wins against two losses, along with a goals-against average of 10.89; he has made a total of eighty-eight saves this season maintaining a .537 save percentage.

This upcoming match marks the first encounter between Illinois Wesleyan University and Calvin University teams. Calvin currently stands at three wins against three losses as they prepare for their Friday night game against Southwestern University before facing off against Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday.
