Illinois Wesleyan University's freshman point guard, Josh Fridman, has been named the D3hoops.com National Rookie of the Year. This announcement comes as part of the organization's postseason honors and All-America teams. Fridman is notably the first player from Illinois Wesleyan to receive this accolade since D3hoops began awarding it in 2008.

In addition to this national recognition, Fridman was also voted the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Newcomer of the Year and the D3hoops Region 8 Rookie of the Year.

During his debut season with Illinois Wesleyan's basketball team, Fridman became a key player as the starting point guard. He averaged 9.2 points per game and contributed 76 assists while committing only 41 turnovers. His shooting statistics include a field goal percentage of 40.4% and a three-point shooting percentage of 37.7%. Furthermore, he led his team with an impressive free throw percentage of 88.0%. A standout performance came during IWU's CCIW Tournament semifinal against Augustana on February 28, where he scored a career-high 24 points, including six three-pointers.

The Titans secured victory in the CCIW Tournament Championship and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament. They concluded their season with a record of 24-6 and maintained a consistent presence in the top-25 rankings throughout.

The D3hoops.com postseason awards also recognized other individuals: Logan Pearson from UW-Platteville was named Player of the Year, while Dave Klatsky from New York University received Coach of the Year honors.
