On Saturday, the Illinois State Redbird football team concluded their spring workouts with a scrimmage at Hancock Stadium. The weather was favorable as the annual event took place in front of fans, family, and alumni.
The scrimmage featured four quarters with 15-minute running clocks, except for the final two minutes of the second and fourth quarters. The Red team emerged victorious with a 10-0 win over the White team.
"After a scoreless first quarter, the first points of the day came off the foot of kicker Michael Cosentino who drilled a 44-yard field goal to put the Red team up 3-0."
"The only other score of the game would come in the third quarter, when Seth Glatz scored from 17 yards out to make the score 10-0."
Passing highlights included Beckham Pellant, who completed 33 of 47 passes for 258 yards. On the ground, Seth Glatz achieved a total of 107 yards and scored a touchdown with 15 carries, while Cal Martine contributed 61 yards from 16 carries.
Receiving gains were led by Eddie Kasper and Gavin Camp, each making six catches, with Camp edging out in yardage by 48 yards over Kasper's 39.
Defensively, Nate Kraus and Anthony Corona each recorded nine tackles. CJ Richard Jr. made significant contributions with eight tackles, one tackle for loss (TFL), and a sack.
