The Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team faced a tough challenge against Carthage College, resulting in a 7-0 loss in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin contest on April 12. This defeat dropped the Titans to a 5-10 record overall and 1-3 in conference play, while Carthage improved its standing to 13-6 overall and 3-1 in the CCIW.

The match took place in Bloomington, Illinois, where Ian Turnbull of Illinois Wesleyan opened strong at No. 1 singles by winning the first set 6-4. However, he fell in the second set 6-2, and despite a hard-fought third set, the match was claimed by Carthage's Myles Krzewinski with a score of 10-8.

Looking ahead, Illinois Wesleyan will conclude its three-game homestand with a match against Millikin University on April 16 at Evergreen Racquet Club, starting at 3:30 p.m.

The singles results included a notable performance by Elios Briand of Carthage who defeated Ben Vigneri of Illinois Wesleyan, and Cyriac Caguela's victory over Ryan McCoy. Carthage continued its dominance in doubles, with the duo of Myles Krzewinski and Elios Briand defeating Ian Turnbull and Ben Vigneri of Illinois Wesleyan.

The Titans will be seeking to bounce back in their upcoming match to improve their conference record.
