After adverse weather conditions delayed the originally scheduled date on March 29, the Illinois Wesleyan University men's tennis team is set to face off against Millikin University on Wednesday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m. at Evergreen Racquet Club. The Titans, who currently hold a season record of 5-10 and a conference record of 1-3, aim to recover following two losses over the weekend against College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) opponents.

In their most recent outing, Illinois Wesleyan suffered a 7-0 defeat to Carthage College on Saturday, April 12. Notably, junior Ian Turnbull from Bloomington put up a close fight at the No. 1 singles position. Turnbull won the first set 6-4, but was eventually overtaken after losing the second set 6-2 and the decisive super tiebreaker 10-8.

The upcoming match marks the 24th meeting between Illinois Wesleyan and Millikin since 1990, with IWU currently leading the series 14-9. Last season, the Titans halted an eight-match losing streak against the Big Blue with a 6-3 win on April 6, 2024. During that match, Turnbull and then-senior Ryan McCoy secured a win with a score of 8-7(4) in doubles play. Further victories in doubles and singles saw IWU secure the overall match.

Most recently, Millikin suffered a 4-3 loss to Carroll University. The Titans will look to use the momentum from last year's victory as they confront Millikin again.

Match results will be available on iwusports.com following the game.
