The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team is set to confront Elmhurst University in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) matchup on Saturday, April 18, at Langhorst Field, with the game commencing at noon.

Illinois Wesleyan holds a slight advantage over Elmhurst in conference standings, as both teams stand undefeated in CCIW play. The Titans currently boast a 10-2 overall and 2-0 conference record, while Elmhurst holds a 10-1 overall and 1-0 in conference. Elmhurst's only defeat this season came against No. 15 Denison University, losing 17-12 on April 12. The Bluejays are led by junior Eli Spence, who ranks highest in Division III with 7.45 points per game and 4.73 goals per game.

The Titans, coming off four consecutive victories, recently secured wins against North Central College and Carthage College. Notably, senior Nick Horrocks was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week after a standout performance that included career-highs in both caused turnovers and ground balls.

In their latest outing against Carthage, Illinois Wesleyan achieved an 11-9 comeback victory, with senior Sam Weinberg providing pivotal game-tying and go-ahead goals. Sophomore Timothy McHugh played a crucial role as well, leading the team alongside Weinberg with five points, predominantly through assists. McHugh leads the team this season with 58 points, and ranks high in the conference and Division III in assists per game.

The Titans showcase strong defensive figures, leading the conference in caused turnovers and ground balls per game. This Saturday's game marks their 15th meeting with Elmhurst, with Illinois Wesleyan having a dominant 13-1 record.
