Illinois Wesleyan hosts CCIW baseball tournament following championship win

Days after winning its first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Regular Season Championship in over ten years, the Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team is set to host the CCIW Tournament at Horenberger Field. The tournament will take place from Wednesday to Saturday, May 7-10.

Illinois Wesleyan secured the top seed by clinching the CCIW Regular Season Championship for the first time since 2013. They will begin their tournament play on Thursday, May 8, at noon against the lowest remaining seed from Wednesday's games. North Central has been awarded the No. 2 seed and a bye into day two of the competition. Carthage and Millikin have taken the third and fourth seeds, respectively, while Wheaton is seeded fifth, followed by North Park as sixth.

The tournament schedule includes multiple games each day with live streams and live stats available for all matches. Admission fees are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, students, and children aged 6-14. Children aged five and under can attend free of charge, as can current CCIW students who present a valid institution ID.

The full schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, May 7:

- #4 Millikin vs. #5 Wheaton at 2 p.m.

- #3 Carthage vs. #6 North Park at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 8:

- Game 3: Lowest remaining seed vs. #1 Illinois Wesleyan at noon

- Game 4: Highest remaining seed vs. #2 North Central at 3:30 p.m.

- Game 5: Loser of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4 at 7 p.m.

Friday, May 9:

- Game 6: Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4 at 2 p.m.

- Game 7: Winner of Game 5 vs. Loser of Game 6 at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, May 10:

- Game 8: Winner of Game 6 vs. Winner of Game 7 at noon

- If necessary, a ninth game will be played thirty minutes after the conclusion of game eight.
