Three members of the Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) softball team have been recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) with All-Region honors. The announcement was made on Friday, May 16.
Senior shortstop Jen Kuhn from Normal, Illinois, was named to the first team. This is her first time receiving this honor after being a second-team pick in 2024. Kuhn is having an impressive senior season with a .463 batting average and leading the team in hits, doubles, and RBIs. She has also tied for the team lead with eight home runs this year. Additionally, Kuhn has received accolades as a First Team All-College of Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin award winner and was named CCIW Defensive Player of the Year.
Freshmen Ella Hermes and Bella Pinter earned second-team honors at the DP/utility position. Hermes, from Peru, Illinois, has shown versatility with a .339 batting average and a 2.25 earned run average as a pitcher. She has participated in 29 games and holds a pitching record of 4-1.
Pinter, hailing from LaMoille, Illinois, is hitting .370 as IWU's primary designated player (DP). She ranks third on the team in RBIs while leading in walks.
The Titans are set to compete in tomorrow's regional championship against Bethany Lutheran College at 11 a.m., aiming for their first super regional appearance since 2019.
