Concluding her career with the Illinois Wesleyan University women's lacrosse team, senior Mia Fiandaca has made history by becoming the first Titan to earn All-American honors. Fiandaca was named to the USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention team, as announced on May 14.
Fiandaca's achievements include being awarded Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Second Team All-Region honors and being named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Year. She also secured a spot on the All-CCIW First Team for the second time in her career.
This season, Fiandaca was twice recognized as the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week, accumulating six defensive weekly awards over her career. She became IWU's first All-Region honoree since 2021. Fiandaca set a new single-season program record for caused turnovers with 58 over 12 games, averaging 4.83 per game. Additionally, she broke the single-season record for ground balls per game with an average of 3.92, leading her team with 47 ground balls this season. On offense, she led in goals (36) and points (28), achieving an average of three goals per game—the second-best season average in program history.
Fiandaca continued her impressive performance by setting single-game records for ground balls (10 at Illinois Tech on February 26) and caused turnovers (12 against Edgewood on March 1). The St. Charles native ranks in the top-10 in multiple categories within program history and holds new career records for goals per game (2.68) and caused turnovers per game (2.32).
Alongside Fiandaca, Carroll's Grace Tumilty was also named as an honorable mention from CCIW student-athletes.
