Illinois State University's soccer team will host Western Illinois at Adelaide Street Field on Thursday evening, with the match scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Redbirds return home after completing a two-game road trip that included a 1-1 draw against Green Bay. Senior Abby Hall scored Illinois State's only goal in that contest, marking her second career collegiate goal.
Western Illinois comes into the matchup following a 4-0 loss to Northern Iowa on Sunday, August 24. The Leathernecks are led by first-year head coach Ross Henderson, who previously coached for four seasons at Clayton State University.
This meeting will be the 14th between Illinois State and Western Illinois. The Redbirds currently hold a 9-2-2 record in the series and have won the last three meetings. They aim to secure their fourth consecutive win over Western Illinois, which would be their longest winning streak in the series.
In last year's contest played in Macomb, Illinois State earned a 1-0 victory over Western Illinois with sophomore Chloe Cline scoring the decisive goal.
