A senior member of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's cross country team has been recognized as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Cross Country Athlete of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office on Wednesday, September 3.
At the Titan Opener held on August 29, Crabtree finished first with a two-mile time of 12:21.3. This result marked her second career win and represented her fastest two-mile performance to date, improving her previous best by seven seconds. In addition to Crabtree's achievement, nine members of the Titans secured spots in the top-10 during the event.
Crabtree previously won the CCIW Championship in 2023.
The Illinois Wesleyan women's cross country team is scheduled to compete next at the Division I Redbird Invitational at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois, on Friday, September 12. The race is set to begin at 5 p.m.
"Crabtree claimed medalist honors with a two-mile time of 12:21.3 marking the second win of her career. The 2023 CCIW Champion paced the Green and White women's team that saw nine Titans claim spots in the top-10."
