Illinois Wesleyan women’s soccer prepares for road match at Illinois College

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team will play its first away game of the season against Illinois College on Saturday, September 6. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Earlier this week, the Titans faced a defeat against top-ranked WashU. In that game, sophomore Vanessa Gray made her debut as goalkeeper and recorded nine saves during the first half. Freshman Lauren Watson took over in the second half and added four more saves for the Titans.

Illinois College enters the matchup with an unbeaten record of two wins and one draw so far this season. Their most recent result was a scoreless tie against Augustana College on Wednesday.

Historically, Illinois Wesleyan has led the series between these teams with eight wins to one loss. The last meeting took place in 2017 when Illinois Wesleyan secured a 3-0 victory in Jacksonville.
