Illinois State University's soccer team will mark its 30th season on Sunday with a match against Loyola Chicago at Adelaide Street Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

The anniversary event will include recognition of Redbird Soccer alumni, who are expected to attend and be honored during the match. Illinois State played its first women's soccer game against Loyola in 1996, winning 3-2.

Currently, Illinois State leads the all-time series against Loyola with a record of 14 wins and 10 losses, including a 7-4 record in games held in Normal, Illinois.

The Redbirds approach Sunday's contest following their third consecutive win—a 2-0 result over IU-Indy on Thursday. This victory also marked their third straight shutout, the longest such streak for the program since achieving five consecutive shutouts in 2019.

Freshman Rylann Law scored twice in Thursday's match, becoming the first Illinois State freshman to do so since Hannah Mueller accomplished it in September 2018 against Western Illinois.

During that game, Illinois State registered 17 shots—the most they have taken under head coach Raleigh DeRose since the 2020-21 season.

Loyola comes into Sunday's game after a recent 1-0 win over Purdue. The Ramblers are led by Jon Sandoval, who is serving his first year as head coach after five years at Northern Michigan University.
