Illinois Wesleyan University's men's golf team leads after the first round of the Carthage Firebirds Fall Classic, which took place at Ives Grove Golf Links in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. The Titans posted a two-under-par 286 on Monday, September 8, placing them one shot ahead of Aurora University.
Aurora's Jackson Hulsey is leading the individual competition with a score of 65, seven under par. Senior Myles Lahart from Illinois Wesleyan recorded a career-best round of 68 and is currently in third place individually. Freshman Jared Code, competing as an individual, finished his round with a 70 and is also in the top ten. Seniors Juney Bai and sophomore Pablo Castro each carded even-par rounds of 72.
Team standings show Illinois Wesleyan in first place with a score of 286, followed by Aurora at 287. Carthage College holds third place at 291, Wheaton College is fourth at 295, and Central College (Iowa) rounds out the top five teams with a score of 296.
The final round will be played at Strawberry Creek Golf Club on Tuesday, September 9. The first tee time for Illinois Wesleyan is set for 9:30 a.m.
