Illinois State University’s baseball team will play a fall scrimmage against Milwaukee on Saturday, October 11, in Madison, Wisconsin. The event is hosted by the Madison Mallards of the Northwoods League.

This game will be the first NCAA Division I baseball contest held in Madison in more than three decades. The last time an NCAA-sanctioned game took place in the city was on May 10, 1991. After that date, the University of Wisconsin ended its baseball program.

Some Illinois State players have previously played for the Madison Mallards. Shuto Okumura, a recent addition to Illinois State’s roster, spent two seasons with the Mallards. He played alongside Shai Robinson, a Redbird alumnus and expected 2025 MLB draftee.

Tickets for fans are priced at $10 each. Concessions will be available during the event. The scrimmage is scheduled for 12 innings and will start at 12:05 p.m., with gates opening at 11:30 a.m.
