The Illinois State women's golf team will compete in the Inverness Intercollegiate, held at the historic Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, on September 15-16. The two-day event will feature 12 collegiate teams and cover 54 holes of play.

Participating teams include Ohio State, TCU, Florida, NC State, Princeton, Florida Gulf Coast, Illinois State, South Alabama, Notre Dame, Middle Tennessee, Coastal Carolina, and Toledo. These programs represent a range of final rankings from last season.

Illinois State’s lineup for the tournament consists of Elise Fennell (18A), Dani Grace Schrock (18B), Reagan Kennedy (17), and Alex Sparrow (16). This appearance marks the Redbirds’ first time competing at the Inverness Intercollegiate.

The Redbirds began their 2025-26 season by placing sixth out of 16 teams at the Redbird Invitational. Elise Fennell led Illinois State with a fifth-place finish; Dani Grace Schrock also finished inside the top ten.

"This marks Illinois State's first appearance at the Inverness Intercollegiate, putting the Redbirds on the same stage as several nationally ranked programs and perennial NCAA postseason qualifiers."

Founded in 1903 and redesigned by Donald Ross in 1916, Inverness Club has hosted major championships such as four U.S. Opens and two PGA Championships. It was also home to the 2021 Solheim Cup and is scheduled to host the 2027 U.S. Women's Open. The course is known for its narrow fairways and fast greens.
