Illinois Wesleyan women’s soccer seeks fourth straight win at Westminster

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team will continue its road schedule with a match against Westminster College (Mo.) on Wednesday, September 17. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Blue Jay Field at Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium in Fulton, Missouri.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the contest with a record of 3-2-0, riding a three-game winning streak. In their most recent outing on Sunday, September 14, the Titans secured a 2-1 victory over Wartburg College. Sophomore Liza Wiley and junior Sophie Lampert scored in the first half to give Illinois Wesleyan an early lead. Goalkeeper Vanessa Gray made six saves and conceded only one goal late in the match.

Westminster College holds a record of 2-2-0 this season. The Blue Jays most recently defeated Stephen's College 2-0 on Wednesday, September 10. Before that win, they lost to Millikin University by a score of 2-1 on September 6.

The upcoming match marks just the second meeting between Illinois Wesleyan and Westminster. Their previous encounter was in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament, where Illinois Wesleyan won 7-0.
