Illinois Wesleyan University senior runner Crabtree has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Runner of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Tuesday, September 16. This is Crabtree’s third career weekly honor and her second recognition this season.
Crabtree was also selected as the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week on Monday, September 15. The national honor follows her performance at the Redbird Invite, hosted by Illinois State University on Friday, September 12. Crabtree won the event with a time of 12:32.3, finishing more than ten seconds ahead of ISU's Nora Brady, who was later named Missouri Valley Conference Runner of the Week.
With her run at the Redbird Invite, Crabtree broke a school record that had stood for ten years. She surpassed Erin McCarey’s previous mark from the 2015 NCAA Regional by three seconds.
Crabtree and her teammates will travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina for their next competition at the Spartanburg Pre-National Meet hosted by Converse on Saturday, September 20.
