The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team is currently in 22nd place after the first round of the NCAA Division III Preview, held at Mission Inn Resort & Club's Las Colinas course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The opening round took place on Sunday, September 21, with the Titans posting a team score of 306 on the par-71, 6,856-yard course.
Senior Aidan Healy led Illinois Wesleyan with a two-over-par 73, placing him tied for 37th individually. Other Titan golfers included Jared Code and Pablo Castro, both carding rounds of 77 to tie for 82nd place. Myles Lahart and Michael Spitzer each finished with scores of 79, tying for 101st.
Jackson Hiller from Oglethorpe College leads all individual competitors after shooting a five-under-par round of 66.
In the team standings, Kenyon College holds first place after recording a six-under-par total of 278. Emory University is second at 282. Huntingdon and Oglethorpe are tied for third at 284, while Southwestern and Methodist share fifth place at 286.
The tournament continues with two more rounds scheduled for Monday and Tuesday on the El Campeon course at Mission Inn Resort & Club.
