Illinois State University tennis players Tomas Valencia and Adrian Dibildox have been selected to represent the Summit League at the upcoming ITA Conference Masters Championships. The announcement was made by the Summit League on Thursday.
Valencia will also participate in the men's singles qualifier matches. Alongside Valencia and Dibildox, Denver University's Louise Wikander and Marley Lambert will represent the league in the women's field. This is Lambert's second consecutive doubles qualification, while Wikander, Valencia, and Dibildox are making their first appearances at this fall event.
The tournament will take place from November 6 to 9 at Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California. Both the Masters and the ITA Division I Sectional Championships held that weekend act as qualifiers for the NCAA Men's and Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships set for November 18 to 23 in Orlando, Florida.
During this fall season, Valencia and Dibildox posted a 2-2 record as a doubles team. In Summit League regular season play during 2024-2025, they achieved a 3-2 record while competing in the No. 1 position.
Valencia has an 11.17 WTN rating and holds a 6-2 singles record this fall with wins over Marquette's No. 1 player and Drake's No. 1 player. For the full season, he went 3-3 in Summit League regular season matches playing at Illinois State’s top singles spot, earning All Summit League First Team honors as well as being named to the Summit League Academic All-League Team.
