Report: McLean County spent $10,189 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at McLean County Unit School District 5 is up 8 percent from five years ago, according to a McLean County Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mclean County school district spent $9,473 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,189 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 13538 to 13586.

McLean County's spending in 2016-17 was 21 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
