Report: Lexington spent $11,704 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Lexington Community Unit School District 7 is down 12 percent from five years ago, according to a McLean County Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mclean County school district spent $13,329 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,704 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 510 to 478.

Lexington's spending in 2016-17 was 10 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
