Report: Bloomington spent $11,969 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Bloomington School District 87 is up 2 percent from five years ago, according to a McLean County Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mclean County school district spent $11,765 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $11,969 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5428 to 5300.

Bloomington's spending in 2016-17 was 8 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
