Normal home prices rise in December 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in December 2017 in Normal rose by $9,625 while total sales decreased by 42%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In December 2017, there were 29 homes sold, with a median sale price of $150,000 - a 6.9% increase over the $140,375 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 50 homes sold in Normal in December 2016.

The median sales tax in Normal for 2017 was $3,912. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,872. This marks an increase of 1%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.6%.
