Village of Cullom Village Board met Sept. 22.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
Mayor Hahn called the Regular Meeting of the Cullom Village Board to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Cullom Community Building Small Room. The change of venue was due to the Governor's call to distance individuals to six foot minimum due to the Covid-19 Virus Pandemic.
Members Present: Hahn, Krause, Flessner, Mills, Wallrich, J. Meister, K. Meister, and Rock
Absent: Whitman
Also Present: Lovell, Evan Jehle, Merle Jehle and Michael Barry
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: All present took part in the Pledge Allegiance to the Flag
Minutes: Motion to accept by consent agenda was made by Rock/Meister. M/C.
Public: Michael Barry and Merle Jehle addressed the board concerning the possibility of filling in a ditch on the property of one of their neighbors. After a discussion, no action was taken.
Maintenance Report:
• Deodorizer blocks have been placed in storm water locations
• High Service Pump has been installed
• Dumpster behind the Legion has been replaced with a larger size
• Gave an update on the Iron Tank and Water Tower progression from Piggush Engineering
• Lead and copper samples have been taken and sent in
• Village water hydrants have been flushed
• Sidewalk repair for the year has been completed
Attorney Report: Reported on on-going litigations. He will continue with lien processing after he receives the information needed from the village
Clerk Report: Wallrich/Rock made the motion to approve the bills totaling $35,872.43. All voted in favor and M/C
Treasurer Report: Motion made by Krause/Meister to accept the Monthly report. All voted in favor and M/C
Old Business:
• Phase 1 of Water Metering - The following board members have agreed to serve on the Water Meter Committee: Mills, Wallrich and Rock
• MFT Maple Street Project - No update
• Iron Tank Project - The Loan Application has been signed. Jackson/Oak Street Drainage - No new information
• Meister led a discussion on laying tile on West Jeffery St. No action will be taken
New Business
• Property Liens - Krause/Wallrich made the motion to proceed with giving Gabor the information that he needs to proceed with processing
• Local CURE Program - Hahn was directed by the board to sign the necessary documents to participate in the program
• Village Truck - Lovell reported on his findings concerning the purchase of a new village truck. After discussion, he was advised to report next month on further investigation on advice given by the board
• West Jeffery St Drainage - Meister led a discussion about tile along West Jeffery St. No action was taken at this time
• Employee Review - The board voted to give Lovell a 5% raise for the first year, followed by a 3% raise for the following three years
Any Other Business
• 2020 Election - Board members who are up for election in 2021 were reminded of the election and those present were given intent to run and petitions. It will be placed on the Cullom website that offices are open for the next election
• Driveway Trunk or Treat - Residents will be given the option to decorate their trunks/cars and hand out treats from their own driveways or to have children come to their door for regular Trick or Treat hours on October 31, 2020 from 3-6 pm
• Christmas on Main Street - The event has been canceled for 2020
• Garbage/Water Bills - Final bills will be mailed on October 1st with a statement that all non-paid water bills as of November 5th will be disconnected
