Report: Prairie Central School District spent $11,390 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Prairie Central Community Unit School District 8 was up 8.5 percent from five years ago, according to the McLean County Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Livingston County school district spent $10,502 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,390 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,050 to 1,782 students over the same period.

Prairie Central's spending in 2019-20 was 21.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
