Analysis: Dwight administrators rank 163rd in state for average pay

Administrators in Dwight Township High School District 230 earn an average of $121,362 per year, ranking 163rd out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 36.1 percent higher than in 2016 and 35 percent higher than in 2011. District administrators make 9 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Dwight School District in Livingston County enrolled 229 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 88 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
