The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team concluded its 2022 portion of the season after competing in the Warhawk Classic Saturday-Sunday, Dec. 3-4. The classic was hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where IWU placed 22nd out of 24 varsity programs. The Titans bowled in six traditional games on day one followed by 16 baker matches in groups of four games on day two.
A United States Bowling Congress event, the Titans bowled against other programs but team placement was decided by the total pinfall after the two days of competition. After day one, the Titans tallied a total pinfall of 4070 in traditional games, followed by a final baker tally of 2222. The combined scores equaled a total pinfall of 6292, good for 22nd.
During baker play, IWU recorded a program-best single-game score of 190 in game three-out-of-four against St. Ambrose University. The tally of 190 beat out the previous record of 176 single-baker game score set in the Green and White's previous tournament Nov. 19 at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament I.
The Titans will take some time off before returning to action next month, Jan. 20-22, for the Peacocks Classic, hosted by Upper Iowa University.
