Town of Chatsworth Board of Trustee met Oct. 25.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Official proceedings of the Board of Trustee’s, Town of Chatsworth, held in the Town council room at 7:00PM

Roll call showed the following present: Trustee Harn, Cavanagh, Schroen, Bell, Nelson, and Price. Also, present: President Runyon, Clerk Meyer, Chief Cavanagh, Officer Dean, Superintendent Harn and Mogged, Treasurer Dassow, and Engineer Piggush. Absent was Heather Tatro and Attorney Coleman.

A motion by Trustee Cavanagh and seconded by Trustee Bell to approve the agenda. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Nelson to approve the minutes from the previous regular board meeting. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Cavanagh and seconded by Trustee Price to return utility activation fee of $50 to Steve and Tammy Moore for property 109 E Elm.

Prairie Central Primary East will be having their annual Halloween parade on Monday, October 31st and has invited all business to pass out candy.

Chief Cavanagh reported they will be handing out candy as well. Also reported Officer Dean is doing well and learning a lot.

New Business

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Schroen to sign another contract with Prudent Energy for 18 months at a .11285 kWh. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

Ordinance Officer Jason Dean took the Oath of the office.

A motion by Trustee Harn and seconded by Trustee Schroen to add Officer Jason Dean to the Citizens Bank credit card with a limit of $2000. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Cavanagh and seconded by Trustee Price to approve the bid from The Fashion Shop in the amount of $14,078.20 for new flooring in the Town Hall. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Cavanagh and seconded by Trustee Nelson to approve the purchase from National Business Furniture in the amount of $2,428 plus shipping for office furniture. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Bell to approve the purchase of a new squad car (2022 Police Interceptor Utility) from Currie Commercial Center in the amount of $52,787.24. Board of Trustee roll call vote: Trustee Schroen-Yea, Trustee Nelson-Yea, Trustee Cavanagh-Yea, Trustee Bell-Yea, Trustee Harn-Yea, and Trustee Price-Yea.

President Runyon reported if anybody wants to volunteer for Trunk‘R’Treat it will be held Sunday, October 30th from 3pm 5pm. He also informed the Trustees that we need to increase our rates for utility services.

Trustee Harn reported still working on selling the dump truck. Also has a committee meeting scheduled for November 8th at 6PM.

Trustee Cavanagh expressed her excitement in moving forward with the Town Hall updates.

Trustee Schroen informed the Board of Trustees the Livingston County recycle is November 5 from 1pm-3pm. Also reported the garbage contract expires December and needing to get it renewed or published.

Trustee Nelson reported working on getting a quote for new picnic tables and ordering replacement parts for the airplane in the park. Also reported that he will be getting with Superintendent Harn to place the swing sets.

Trustee Price inquired if the Town still replaces gravel in/on the easement. Also reported needing to have a committee meeting.

Clerk Meyer reported the Rebuild Illinois fund has to be obligated for by July of 2025. Also reported receiving 125 water meters and working a quote to finish the project. Provided a levy worksheet for the Trustees review before the next meeting and thanked the board for allowing her to attend Municipal Clerks of Illinois.

Superintendent Harn reported what an asset having Superintendent Mogged part of the team; he’s a quick learner and hard worker. Also reported that previous superintendent had come up with a plan to increase water rates, but the committee had never meet, and it would be nice if committees would meet when requested so we can look to the future. The Pine St lift station has started getting impellers clogged just like Locust St lift station.

A motion by Trustee Bell and seconded by Trustee Price to pay the bills. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas

A motion by Trustee Price and seconded by Trustee Nelson to adjourn the meeting at 8:14PM. Board of Trustee vote: 6 Yeas
