State Representative candidate for House District 91, Desi Anderson, has issued an open invitation to a free community event in an effort to engage with local residents. The event, dubbed "FREE COFFEE & PASTRIES MEET & GREET," will be held at the recently inaugurated Lvl Up Coffee Bar on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m.

Anderson took to Facebook to announce the gathering, stating: "All are invited to this FREE event. Would love to meet as many of you!"

According to the event's organizer, "Desi Anderson for Illinois," the occasion promises an informal and engaging environment where constituents can meet the candidate and discuss local issues over complimentary coffee and pastries. The meet and greet will take place at the Lvl Up Coffee Bar, located at 107 Mall Drive in Normal. The gathering aims not only to foster open dialogue about community concerns and aspirationsm but also offers attendees a chance to familiarize themselves with both Anderson and the newly established coffee bar.

When announcing her candidacy in September, Anderson highlighted her commitment to pragmatic and liberty-focused strategies aimed at addressing challenges faced by working families and farmers in the 91st State House District. Expressing concern about Illinois potentially straying off course, she emphasized the importance of adopting sensible solutions that align with community values. Through her candidacy, Anderson hopes to stimulate positive changes prioritizing Illinois families' welfare and giving precedence to their concerns when making legislative decisions.

The 91st House District includes parts of McLean, Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties. It is currently represented by State Rep. Sharon Chung (D-Bloomington). She will also be contesting for the same seat in the upcoming primary election scheduled for March 19, according to Ballotpedia.
