Former Redbird DeAnna Wilson has signed her first professional contract with Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional Femenino (BSNF) league member Pollitas de Isabella, as announced by the team this week.

"I am so proud of DeAnna," head coach Kristen Gillespie said. "She has the ability and potential to have a very successful professional career. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her."

Wilson etched her name in the Illinois State record book during her four-year career, finishing seventh on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,545 career points. One of just four players in program history to grab 800 career rebounds, she is second in program history with 867 boards. Wilson is one of just two players in program history, along with Women's Basketball Hall of Famer Cathy Boswell, to score 1,500 career points and grab 800 career rebounds. She is also second all-time on the program free throw list with 395 career made free throws.

Last season Wilson led Illinois State with 14.9 points per game and reached double figures in 24 games on the year. She posted eight performances of 20+ points including six in MVC play, where she earned three MVC Player of the Week honors. Wilson tallied seven double-doubles on the year and moved to 25 double-doubles as a Redbird, which ranks fourth in program history.

Over her four-year career Wilson averaged 12.8 points and 7.2 rebounds, helping the Redbirds to an 81-44 overall record, two MVC Championships and an appearance in the 2022 NCAA Tournament. Wilson was a three-time All-MVC selection, earning first-team honors in 2022.

She becomes the sixth Redbird to earn a professional contract during Gillespie's tenure, joining former teammates JuJu Redmond and Paige Robinson on the list of active pros.
