NORMAL – As a kickoff to the 2024-25 season and a thank you to its loyal fans, Illinois State Athletics will host its annual Community Movie Night on Friday, August 9, at Hancock Stadium.

Presented by the Bloomington-Normal YMCA, this year's event features a free screening of the iconic sports comedy "Space Jam" (1996) featuring basketball legend Michael Jordan. The movie will be shown on the video board at Hancock Stadium with doors opening at 6 p.m. for a 6:30 p.m. start.

Jordan stars alongside Looney Tunes icon Bugs Bunny and friends in the live-action/animated adventure that grossed over $250 million worldwide, holding the title of the highest-grossing basketball film of all time for over two decades. The duo is joined by an NBA All-Star cast including Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Muggsy Bogues, Shawn Bradley, and Larry Johnson while Danny DeVito and Wayne Knight highlight the film's voice talents.

Fans are encouraged to bring blankets and sleeping bags to sit on the turf at Hancock Stadium, as no chairs will be allowed on the field. Free parking will be available in lots adjacent to the stadium. No outside food or drinks will be allowed into Hancock Stadium, but concession stands on the east side of the stadium will be open. Food can be eaten in the east or west bleachers but not on the field.
