Months after concluding their distinguished careers at Illinois Wesleyan University, women's golfers Lexi Onsrud and Emma Thorman have been honored with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America accolades. The organization announced on Tuesday, July 16, that Onsrud was named the Academic All-America of the Year and earned CSC First Team Academic All-America honors. Thorman also received CSC First Team Academic All-America recognition.

Onsrud's award marks the ninth time a Titan has won CSC's Academic All-America of the Year, placing Illinois Wesleyan in the top four for Division III all-time. She joins previous winners from various sports including Matthew Leritz (men's basketball - 2022), Meg Stanley (women's swimming - 2017), and others. Onsrud is also the 11th Titan to be a three-time Academic All-America selection.

This year is notable as it marks the first time two Titan women's golfers have earned Academic All-America honors simultaneously. Onsrud and Thorman together account for four selections in program history.

Onsrud maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA as a kinesiology and allied health major while excelling in golf. She was named the 2024 CCIW Woman of the Year and received the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship Elite 90 Award. Her performance included being named all-region for the third time with an average score of 75.9 over 26.5 rounds in 11 tournaments during the 2023-24 season.

Thorman, who worked as a student worker in IWU’s athletic communications office, earned her first CSC First Team Academic All-America honor following an impressive senior season. She maintained a GPA of 3.86 as a secondary education and English major while achieving numerous accolades including CCIW Women's Golfer of the Year and WGCA All-America Honorable Mention.

Illinois Wesleyan University's all-time list of Academic All-Americans now stands at 156, ranking within the top-25 across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, and top-10 in Division III.
