Several Illinois State men's tennis student-athletes have been recognized by The Summit League for their academic achievements. On Thursday, six Redbirds were named to the 2023-24 Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, and eight were included in the 2023-24 Summit League Academic Honor Roll.

The Summit League's announcement featured nearly 900 student-athletes from its nine member institutions and seven associate members across 17 sports. To qualify for the Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, have used a year of eligibility, and completed three full semesters or five quarters at their nominating institution. Those with a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher receive an additional "with distinction" designation.

Illinois State honorees on the Commissioner's List include Tin Ostro*, Caden Scarlett*, Tomas Valencia*, Emiliano Gonzalez, Arvid Hjalte, and Ming-Chieh Chiu. Teammates Tom Bevan and Adrian Dibildox were also named to the Summit League Academic Honor Roll.

Hjalte and Ostro were among seven men's tennis student-athletes selected for the 2024 Summit League Academic All-League team after the regular season. Hjalte is one of four student-athletes named to this team multiple times, while Ostro received his first academic league honor.
