The Illinois State swimming and diving team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The schedule features seven regular-season meets, including three home meets, before the Redbirds open postseason competition at the MVC Championships in Iowa.
"This year's schedule provides a great mix between outside competitors and opponents in the Missouri Valley Conference," ISU head coach Riley Hilbrandt said. "When building the schedule, our main focus was providing challenging and competitive meets to push our athletes in the pool and on the boards. We have a couple of exciting two-day competitions, which will allow for more racing opportunities and different events for our athletes to compete in. The team seems very excited for our season and some new additions we will be introducing this year, such as October's pink meet to fundraise and spread awareness for breast cancer. I'm so excited to work with this team and I can't wait to kick off the season."
To open the season, Illinois State will host Indiana State for the first Missouri Valley Conference meet of the year on October 4 at 2 pm. The Redbirds will return to Normal for a two-day invitational with Ohio on October 18-19. That will be followed by three consecutive road meets at SIU-Edwardsville (November 1), Purdue (November 22-23), and the US Open in Greensboro, N.C. (December 4-7).
The 'Birds will finalize the regular season with a home meet against Quincy on January 10 and a road invitational at UNI on January 17-18, before beginning postseason competition at the MVC Championships in Waukee, Iowa, from February 26-March 1.
ISU will then compete at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships and the CSCAA NIC Championships in March before qualifying for the NCAA Swim & Dive Championships in Federal Way, Wash.
