Illinois State University is collaborating with State Farm and US Hunger to host the first Million Meal Pack on Saturday, September 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at CEFCU Arena.

The event will involve approximately 5,000 volunteers working together to pack and assemble one million meals. These meals will be distributed throughout McLean County via the Midwest Food Bank to support individuals facing food insecurity. Statistics indicate that 1 in 8 people and 1 in 6 children in Illinois experience hunger. Additionally, the School Street Food Pantry on campus will receive meal packs as part of this initiative.

"This event is a great opportunity for University students, faculty and staff, community businesses, friends, and families to make a difference in the fight against hunger," organizers stated. Participants aged five years and older can sign up for 90-minute volunteer shifts through the signup link available at GoRedbirds.com/MillionMeal.

Further information regarding Illinois State tickets, Weisbecker Athletic Fund gifts, multimedia content, Redbird merchandise, photos, and more can be found on GoRedbirds.com and the Illinois State Redbirds App.
