NORMAL, Ill. – Saturday's annual Red-White intrasquad scrimmage signals the end of fall training camp for the Redbirds, who will turn their attention to prepping for the Aug. 31 season opener at Iowa.

Red-White Scrimmage Rundown:

• It will be offense vs. defense in Saturday's 11 a.m. scrimmage at Hancock Stadium, as the offense wearing white jerseys will square off against the defense in their red jerseys with no score being kept.

• Following a quick stretch and warmup, the scrimmage will officially begin with the first-team kickoff unit taking the field for a live kickoff.

• Beginning at its own 27-yard line, the first team offense will attempt to drive the field against the second-team defense for a series, followed by the second-team offense taking on the first-team defense on the next drive with the third team units then getting a crack at it.

• Two live punts will follow, with the first and second-team units each getting a chance to cover or return punts.

• The next session will be an overtime period, with each of the three groups getting a chance to score under regular overtime rules starting at the 25-yard line.

• The teams will then take a quick halftime water break and turn things over to the Big Red Marching Machine, who will play for fans in attendance while the team gets a breather.

• Following the band's performance, the second-team kickoff unit will begin the second half with a kickoff of its own.

• The first and second team units will then have a chance to work on a goal-line situation, with each team starting at their opponent's 9-yard line.

• Two live punt returns will follow that before heading into a two-minute period starting on offense's 37-yard line. The first two groups square off before giving way to third unit attempts; teams have 58 seconds on clock with one timeout needing field goal to win drill.

• Final situation involves two mayday quick field goal attempts from 25 yards out within just 16 seconds.
