Illinois Wesleyan ranks fourth after rainy first round at TPC Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - After significant rain hit the Madison area overnight and through the morning, the eighth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team weathered the opening round at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Invite Sunday, Sept. 22, carding a 315 on the par-71 TPC Wisconsin. With one round complete and one to go, the Titans rank fourth in the 17-team field.

Christopher Newport leads the tournament with a 303, while No. 15 Centre (307) and 25th-ranked Randolph-Macon (310) round out the top three. Centre's Grace Walker carded a one-over 72 and holds the lead in the 96-player field.

Senior Macy Ludwig (Effingham, Ill.-St. Anthony) carded a four-over 75 and holds a share of sixth place. Sophomore Nora Cerroni (Waukesha, Wis.-Waukesha North), playing as an individual, is tied for 20th with a first-round score of 78.

Final round action is scheduled for tomorrow, Sept. 23.
