The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's cross country teams are preparing to compete in the DIII Pre-Nationals event in Terre Haute, Indiana. The race is scheduled for Friday, October 4, and will be hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Races will take place at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country Course. The schedule includes collegiate and high school events, with IWU women participating in a championship six-kilometer race at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the men in an eight-kilometer race at 9:45 p.m. ET. There will also be open races earlier in the evening.

To qualify for the collegiate championship races, teams must rank within the top 46 of the Pre-Nationals Team Rankings and have up to 10 student-athletes competing. The Titan women hold the 28th spot while their male counterparts are ranked 39th.

Representing the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin alongside IWU are Augustana, Elmhurst, and North Park, all entering both men's and women's teams.

Teams from across the nation will participate on Friday including highly-ranked institutions such as University of Chicago and MIT on the women's side, along with UW-Whitewater and Pomona-Pitzer for men.

IWU's women's team recently re-entered Midwest regional rankings at No. 9 as announced on October 1. CCIW rival Wheaton holds seventh place while Chicago leads regionally followed by Washington University in St. Louis and Central (Iowa).

The Titans have had a two-week break after performing well at Gil Dodds Invitational on September 21 where Senior Annalese Chudy finished fourth overall with a time of 22:29.30 earning her another CCIW Runner of the Week title this season. On the men's side, Senior Nick Fisch finished eleventh overall clocking a time of 25:59.4.
