The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced the results of its 2024 women's soccer preseason coaches poll. North Central College, which claimed both the regular season and tournament championships last year, was voted to lead the conference again. They received all eight possible first-place votes, accumulating a total of 64 points.
Carroll University, matching their runner-up position from last season, secured one first-place vote and totaled 54 points in the poll. Wheaton College followed closely with 52 points, placing them third.
Augustana College garnered 42 points for fourth place, while Millikin University collected 31 points to secure fifth place. Illinois Wesleyan University was predicted to finish sixth with 27 points. The rest of the rankings saw North Park University with 23 points in seventh place, Carthage College with 18 points in eighth place, and Elmhurst University rounding out the poll in ninth place with 13 points.
The voting process involves head women's soccer coaches from each CCIW school. Coaches rank the other schools based on predicted finishes but do not vote for their own teams. Points are assigned inversely to ranking positions.
Illinois Wesleyan University's women's soccer team will begin their season on August 30 with a non-conference match against Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa at 5 p.m.
