The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team is preparing to face Hope College in a midweek match on Wednesday, September 25. The game will take place at Neis Field, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. This match marks the second of four consecutive home games for IWU.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the contest with a record of 2-5-1 following last week's performance of one win, one loss, and one draw. The Titans started their week against Washington University in St. Louis, where they were defeated 4-0 by the top-ranked team in the nation. They rebounded on Saturday with an 8-3 victory over Monmouth College, despite the game being shortened due to weather conditions. Freshman Liza Wiley led IWU with her second hat trick of the season, while junior Maya Flemming scored two goals—the first of her career. Additional goals came from senior Tegan Timerman, junior Jenna Gravitt, and sophomore Sophie Lampert.

On Sunday, IWU played Dominican to a 3-3 draw after overcoming a 2-0 deficit. Freshman Taylor Haun and Wiley each contributed a goal and an assist, while junior Bree Cordray scored off an assist from Timerman.

Freshman Ella Randall was in goal for both the Monmouth and Dominican matches and made a late appearance against WashU. Over these three games, she recorded seven saves.

Hope College comes into Wednesday's matchup with a record of 3-2-1 after securing an upset victory over No. 25 University of Chicago on Saturday, September 21. The history between IWU and Hope dates back to 2003; Illinois Wesleyan holds a series lead with five wins compared to Hope's three victories and one draw. In their most recent encounter on September 13, 2023, Hope won decisively with a scoreline of 5-0.
