Two late goals by Illinois Wesleyan University's women's soccer team resulted in a 3-3 draw against Dominican University on Sunday afternoon. The match, held on September 22, saw IWU overcome a two-goal deficit at halftime.

Dominican took an early lead with a goal in the ninth minute and extended it with another strike in the 31st minute. Despite trailing, both teams had ten shots each during the first half, with IWU leading in corners and saves.

The second half saw Illinois Wesleyan's freshmen duo Taylor Haun and Liza Wiley narrow Dominican's lead to one when Wiley's cross was headed into the net by Haun in the 58th minute. Dominican then scored again in the 78th minute, but IWU's junior captain Bree Cordray capitalized on a deflection for their second goal, assisted by senior captain Tegan Timerman.

Wiley equalized the score to 3-3 after converting a deflected corner kick from Haun with just over six minutes remaining. Despite further attempts by Wiley, Timerman, and Cordray, the game ended in a draw.

Ella Randall preserved the tie for Illinois Wesleyan with a crucial save just before time expired. She finished with four saves as her record moved to 1-0-1.

Illinois Wesleyan outshot Dominican 23-16 and led narrowly in shots on target. They also doubled Dominican's corner kicks eight to four.

IWU will continue its home stretch against Hope College on Wednesday, September 25 at Neis Field.
