Following a weekend break, the Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team is set to face a significant challenge on Tuesday, September 17. The team will travel to St. Louis to compete against Washington University, currently ranked No. 1.

The Titans recently secured a decisive 5-0 victory over Knox College on September 11. Freshmen Liza Wiley, Ellen Dahlquist, and Taylor Haun each scored their first collegiate goals during the match. Wiley achieved her first career hat trick in the game. Goalkeepers Grace Kiewiet and Ella Randall shared time in goal, recording three and one save respectively.

Illinois Wesleyan now holds a season record of 1-4, while Washington University remains undefeated with a 6-0 record. The Bears have allowed only three goals this season and have shut out three opponents.

Historically, Illinois Wesleyan trails Washington University in their encounters with a series record of 14-5-5. In their last meeting on September 20, 2023, at Neis Field, IWU suffered a 3-0 defeat.
