During the game, the Redbirds achieved 11 hits, highlighted by Addison Masching's first career home run. Delainey Bryant extended her streak of reaching base to 30 consecutive games, now holding the longest active streak in the country. The previous record for a reaching base streak in Redbird history was held by Emme Olson with 32 games in 2023.
Key performances included Jayden Standish going 2-for-4 with a triple, double, and an RBI; Addison Masching achieving 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs; Kaili Chval contributing with a double in her 2-for-4 performance; and Abby Knight also hitting 2-for-4.

The game started with an early lead for the Redbirds when Delainey Bryant singled and was driven in by Jayden Standish's RBI double. Standish later hit another extra-base hit in the third inning before Adisyn Hopkins brought home pinch-runner Hanna Hicks with an RBI single. Addison Masching added another run with a single driving in Hopkins.
Indiana State responded with two runs from a home run, but Masching's own home run increased the Redbirds' lead back to two runs. The pitching duo of Meshnick and McLeod maintained this lead to secure both the game and series win against Indiana State.
The Redbirds will travel next to face UNI for their final road series of conference play starting on April 26.
