The Redbirds have secured a spot in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) tournament semifinals following their 3-2 victory over Bradley. This win sets them up for a matchup against the MVC regular season champions, Southern Illinois Salukis.

In the game against Bradley, the Redbirds accumulated seven hits and scored three runs thanks to Delainey Bryant and Abby Knight. Bryant opened the game with a solo home run, while Knight followed with a two-run homer. These early runs proved sufficient for their narrow victory over their rivals.

Offensively, Delainey Bryant went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI, while Abby Knight contributed with a home run and two RBIs from her 1-for-2 performance. Other notable contributions came from Jayden Standish, Adisyn Hopkins, Bella Wilkerson, and Addison Masching, each recording one hit.

On the mound, Paige McLeod pitched seven innings allowing four hits and two unearned runs. Her performance was crucial in maintaining the lead after Bradley scored twice in the second inning.

With this win, Illinois State moves to a season record of 23-30. They will face Southern Illinois for the first time since being eliminated by them in last year's tournament. The semifinal match is scheduled for May 10 at 1:00 p.m., where both teams will vie for a place in the championship finale.
